Adolescence: Be a sport

What the people who have seen more years say : if only we had faced problem with more faith in ourselves; looking back it was not such a big deal- so there is a broader perspective to be considered

Spiritual perspective: One should not take what one cant give: we can’t give life, we have no right to take it {even our own}

Also, most of things in life are on auto mode ( thankfully) viz. body growth: you need not take care of them; you only need to take care of your reaction/ feelings/ emotions to them. Hustle all you can but without the mental burden. It will all turn out well

Suicide among adolescents (15-25Yrs) has a very high rate

Self harm & destroying outside things are attempted; suicide is a cry for help; person is ambivalent between choice to live & die

Warning signs of suicides:

  • Adolescent talks of suicide/ death
  • Previous suicidal attempts
  • Changes in personality/ moods
  • Changes in eating/ sleeping patterns
  • Withdrawal from friends/activities
  • Taking unusual risks
  • Collecting sleeping pills/ poisonous substances
  • Giving away prized possessions
  • Drug abuse

How to prevent suicides

  • Don’t leave the person alone
  • Don’t ignore early warning signs
  • Keep all harmful stuff ( sharp objects, pills, poisons) out of reach
  • Seek medical help
  • Keep your composure to help the person in need
